Edinburgh-born Anderson is another senior GB women’s player to have graduated from the World University Games team for whom she played in the 2009 event in Belgrade, Serbia.

A 5’10” guard, Anderson appeared in seven games in that tournament, averaging 4.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game, following on from two summers in which she had gained her first taste of GB basketball as a member of the under-20’s team, captaining the side in 2008. Anderson also played for the Scotland national team at junior age group levels.

Anderson has played for two junior colleges in the United States, having moved from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where she was an Honourable Mention All-American, to Central Oklahoma for the 2008-09 season.

Anderson, whose brother Kenny is a Commonwealth Games boxing champion,
aims to play professionally in the 2010-11 season.
