We are a smaller than usual dog pound tonight because of the fact the game is at CAPACITY! BOOM! Only 16 Balldogs, that doesn’t mean however, that we are not required to go on sicka and make some craaazzzy ass noise!
As is standard, white tshirts, noise, instruments, facepaint and anything else! Turn up at the door and say you’re on the Back British Basketball list with Sam Neter and Sillky.
We will see you there!

Stuart Tanner. One of the most famous British basketball players on the planet for his absolute murkage of Devin Harris in a 1 on 1. And now to be known as one of the few guys who has spit bars about Team GB.
He threw this together to help out with the campaign after another artist we had pulled out. Came together pretty nicely don’t you think?
*Note-Stu wanted me to make it clear that he doesn’t claim to be an artist or anything like that, he jus does a lil bit of writing in his spare time and wanted to help us out. (I personally disagree and think this is heavy. lol).
So we get on the train up to Birmingham yesterday for the GB-Hungary game, and as we walk through the carriages we walk past someone that looks a little familiar.
We sit down and after much discussion, we’re like “sheeeesh it’s actually Jamelia”! After about another hour of discussion and growing some balls, we made our way down to talk to her. We explained what we were doing and she was more than happy to back it-big up Jamelia, for being so friendly and down to earth (and of course showing some love to the campaign!)!
The GB Senior Women will be taking centre stage on Friday, taking on Ukraine in their only stand-alone home game of their campaign-this means they’re gonna need all the support and noise we can make!
Due to overwhelming demands, we only have 15 tickets for the loudest, craziest, rowdiest fans…all you gotta do-stick your FULL name in the comments below…and be prepared to make a lot of noise! The game starts at 7.00pm and is at Surrey Sports Park, me and Sillky will both be in the crowd going nuts, so come join us!
NOTE: A couple of things have occured to me after the first two times we have done this-first off, not everyone who puts their name on the list is showing up, and second of all, not all of those who are in the Dog Pound are screaming their lungs out from start to finish. Let’s not take the p*ss now, this is about showing support, backing the team and giving them a lift through crowd support. If you have no intention of doing that, please DO NOT put your name in the comments below.
Great night for GB hoops last night as the men held on for a 66-64 victory over Hungary at the NIA, Birmingham, meaning they are now 5-0, whilst the women a little bit further away in Germany, won 72-63.
The men suffered a scare after leading by as much as 15, when Hungary came storming back into it in the fourth quarter. They kept their composure however, and thanks to a game saving block from Luol Deng, held on for the tight two point victory. Pops was once against a monster on the boards, finishing with 17 to go along with his 15 points, Nate Reinking led all GB scorers with 17 whilst Luol had 13.
The women got their first win of their Eurobasket campaign, now standing at 1-1 after beating Germany. Julie Page led the way for Tom Maher’s side with 20 points and five rebounds, while Natalie Stafford finished with 16 points and three assists. Jo Leedham had six steals and five rebounds to go with her 13 points, with Jenaye Wade-Frey chipping in with eight points and three assists.
Mark Mills and co. over at Inside the Game will be live broadcasting the men’s game against Hungary tonight…make sure you tune in-broadcast starts at 7pm!
GB Men vs Hungary Live Stream (this is a link to Hoopsfix which I can update from my phone, if the broadcast link changes, I will update it there).
I am currently looking for a link to the Women vs Germany game, if anyone has one, please post below and I’ll edit into this!
Here are those who have got themselves into the DOG POUND tonight to make up “The Balldogs”! Can we make sure if possible, every one of you is wearing white and ready to make some SERIOUS noise! Facepaint is always welcome, as well as any noisemaking instruments…let’s get this place rocking!
As you can see we have about 15 seats remaining still, if you still want in drop a comment below-I need to submit within the hour though…if you have already bought tickets and are sitting in other parts of the arena, feel free to come and sit with us if you want to make noise!
Game starts at 7.30pm at the NIA, Birmingham. Turn up at the door and say you’re on the Back British Basketball list with Sam Neter and Sillky (bring ID).

Unfortunately we couldn’t film properly due to Channel 4 owning the rights, so this is the best of what I filmed from inside the Dog Pound at the NIA, Birmingham, on Saturday.
Check out the slow motion mexican wave! Looking forward to seeing more of this tonight!
So Sunday morning I went out and bought every single newspaper to find what the coverage would of the GB Men’s team after beating Ukraine the night before to remain undefeated and at the top of their group….
26th April. FIBA announced that, unlike the rest of Team GB, the British Basketball team had to win a series of games to earn their spot at the 2012 Olympics. Even though we're the host nation!
We've got the best team in years. So we're on a mission to fill those games with the biggest, loudest crowds ever. To inspire and give GB the boost they need to qualify for the Olympics. And you know what? It's working! C'mon Britain, back British basketball.
