For those who follow the Hoopsfix account on Twitter, you may have noticed yesterday I was at Guardian Activate Summit 2010. I had been invited to be on a panel there because of my affiliation with the Virgin Media Pioneers programme. What an awesome experience it turned out to be and allowed me to rub shoulders with some serrrrrious people!

Check me out, second from right...HOLLYWOOOOOD!

Positives to come out of it for the BBB campaign;

  • Had an awesome chat with Jamal Edwards, founder of SBTV, one of the biggest UK-based Youtube channels on the internet (just under 20k subscribers-checkout his Youtube channel). It’s looking like the BBB campaign and SBTV will be teaming up for a competition…watch this space.

  • Met Alex Balfour who is Head of New Media for London 2012. They have a huge email database of people who have shown interest in tickets for the basketball at London 2012 (in the hundreds of thousands), and he said it should be no problem to get a mailshot sent out to their list about the upcoming games in August. BIG!

  • Spoke to a lovely women called Francesca who works at the Guardian. She is passing on my details to members of the editorial team at the paper, so fingers crossed we can get something published in there.

Overrall, an amazing day and great experience! Positive movements…
